The company was founded in 1994 by former employees of the institute of water engineering and water economy from the TU Berlin. The Quantum product family has become the standard instrumentation used today by hydrologists to improve their knowledge of water flow in rivers, open channels, pressurized pipes, partially filled conduits, estuaries, waterways, irrigation and drainage systems, and sewage water systems.

The in-house online data base (Q-WIS - Quantum Wasser-Information-System) contains data from over 370 measuring points. The data output for Quantum customers - data content - will be generated with templates. The basis therefore is the abscission of programming and display.
