Central server

A server is a computer in a network using other computers (clients). The control computer of a network is described as a file server. The server is responsible for the administration of the complete network system and it provides all required services and resources for the individual users of a network. Hard disks are part of the data storage (data are saved centrally) just like single network printers or also the programmes which are used in the network.
